Its that time of year when the cap and gown adorn the heads of many 18yr olds, and celebrating your cross over from your youth to adulthood is captured in a photograph.
Let me introduce you to Heather, a beautiful girl who I've watched grown into this wonderful young lady over the years. Our shoot was done along the Ohio River with many stunning backdrops, which included the cabin of George Rogers Clark and the riverfront in Jeffersonville, In. Shortly after we arrived at the cabin, we quickly learned that several large buses would be unloading tons of tiny tots for a field trip. I knew right then Heather and I would have to work quickly to accomplish our goal of using the cabin without the "peek-a-boos" from little girls peering in my lens. So, I led her into a whirl of stand here and sit there and whizzed her around the cabin and we captured some awesome shots! After our little adventure shoot we decided to do some stuff in Kentucky, and headed over to Central Park. This is a perfect scenic backdrop and its frequently requested by alot of my seniors. My day with Heather so smooth as silk, she is a perfect lady and shooting her was so easy. She followed direction so well, and allowed me to create some wonderful photographs.

My recreations
Thought I would share something I enjoy doing for fun. I love to take favorite photos of everyday stuff and turn them into pieces I treasure by transforming them into works of art. I will show you the original photo and then what I turned it into after some time of playing around with it. This is something I really enjoy doing. I hope you appreciate it as well.
The first photo is of my two great-nieces. Jennie and Nicole. They are two adorable lil girls who have the sweetest spirits. Its always fun watching what children will do when you point the camera at them. These two decided to engage in a hug. Just goes to show how perfectly loving they are.

After

The next photograph was taken at a friends Halloween party. This lil lady is soo precious. Her name is Bella. She was intrigued by a butterfly that was part of my costume and how could I deny her when she asked if she could have my butterfly. After I attached the butterfly to her finger, she began to dance it through the air with grace just as a real butterfly would do. I grabbed my camera and captured the photo. It blurred a bit and was frustrated because I knew it would be such a cute photo. Then I played around with it and created a photo that would soon adorn my walls. She is a beautiful child and I was happy that I could turn such a sweet moment her and I shared into something I can now cherish and remember each time I look at the photo.

This just goes to show how I can take a photo that appears to be something ok and turn it into something spectacular. I love doing this stuff..its so much fun! Hope you enjoy these as much as I do.

CJ & Dad
tearful one
During my last photo session, I was photographing Lil Rickie. Lil Rick as we called him was cutting teeth unfortunately and most of the photos we shot was of him crying. We did manage to get some beautiful photos of him while happy for a few moments and even the tearful photos are adorable...I'm just sure he didn't appreciate me snapping away while he was in pain. I dont usually make a habit of photographing babies while they hurting but as I reminded dad, event the tearful photographs will pull at the heartstrings when Lil Rickie isnt so lil anymore.
After I pulled out the blocks he stopped crying and begin to play. He was just hurting and needed something to take his mind off his tooth.
I'm sure that tooth will be a great addition to a beautiful smile!
I felt so bad for him but I knew dad worked nights and long hours so I worked with this little man until we got him happy.
Like I said soon after I pulled the blocks out he was distracted and ready to play

Miss Olivia
Miss Olivia Catherine born Feb.13th just one day shy of Valentines Day is still a sweetheart! This was my first newborn shoot and I have to say it was awesome. We took our time as babies dont always want to cooperate and stay in a pose. I just let Olivia decide our pace and what photos we would go with. She was awake for most of the shoot and I was really surprised how she did NOT want to keep her clothes off. She would get fussy and once wrapped up and swaddled again, she was absolutely fine and wide eyed and happy.
This hat my daughter made just for Miss Olivia. Its so cute!

We look forward to capturing Miss Olivia growing up into a beautiful young lady
Little man
Cameron is his name and charming is his game..hehe. This lil man is amazingly charming with his smile and hypnotizing eyes. The lights would just explode inside those blue eyes and melt your heart. He was so much fun to work with and made my job so easy. I wish all shoots with babies could go this easy..hehe

About Me
- Revonda McCarty
- Louisville, Kentucky, United States
- Married and mother of four beautiful children. My life is as busy as a circus. I am always on the go with my family but my photography is as much part of me as my family. Its may passion and joy. I love to put smiles on everyones faces and my photography is an outlet as well as a fix for my own happiness. I love my children and they were the ones who pulled the photographer out of me. As most young mothers we are constantly snapping a camera to capture those many first moments. But friends and family saw something in my photos that made them believe in my ability to create such works of beauty that led me here today. To God I give many thanks for my talents and my blessings. He is the one who enables me to do what I do and he will always be first in my life. I just pray that my camera will always capture joy not sadness and my works will always be appreciated and admired by those who reflect in my lens.
