Family Photo Sessions

Family photos sessions take alot of work. Especially if you have small children. Keeping everyone focused on the project isnt always as easy as one would think. I prefer to do family portraits outdoors for alot of different reasons. For one I dont have the space indoors to do family portraits, secondly I love the natural light the outdoor gives and the scenic backdrops that always make for a fabulous photograph.
I prefer non posed photos for any age. I love to capture people and allow their natural personalities come out. Photography should be made fun and you will always walk away with portraits you will love.

CLOTHING
When doing family portraits you want each person to reflect their own style but also you want a good flow for the photo. Solid colors always work well in this case. When you are outdoors theres alot going on in a photograph, so its best to keep the balance by choosing clothing that will photograph well and blend with the others in the photograph.

LOCATION....LOCATION....
Try to chose spots that you are familiar with.  Maybe a location that has some special meaning or favorite place for your family. These makes the photograph more special and you will appreciate it more.
Also, try to keep away from muddy or dangerous areas. Sometimes a location can be visually beautiful but not safe for your family.

Try to allow plenty of time for your photo session. This is an heirloom that your family will treasure forever and pass down to their children. As a general rule I like to take my time and allow several hours for family portrait sessions.

About Me

My photo
Louisville, Kentucky, United States
Married and mother of four beautiful children. My life is as busy as a circus. I am always on the go with my family but my photography is as much part of me as my family. Its may passion and joy. I love to put smiles on everyones faces and my photography is an outlet as well as a fix for my own happiness. I love my children and they were the ones who pulled the photographer out of me. As most young mothers we are constantly snapping a camera to capture those many first moments. But friends and family saw something in my photos that made them believe in my ability to create such works of beauty that led me here today. To God I give many thanks for my talents and my blessings. He is the one who enables me to do what I do and he will always be first in my life. I just pray that my camera will always capture joy not sadness and my works will always be appreciated and admired by those who reflect in my lens.
